The Status of Girls in Wisconsin: A Conversation about Mental Health
October 10 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Free
Alverno College released its 2019 Status of Girls in Wisconsin earlier this year. The report identified that mental health is a serious issue for girls throughout the state. They identified increasing instances of anxiety, depression and self harm than in previous years. Girls of color face unique issues related to mental health. This conversation will be led by mental health professionals with a focus on explaining the trends, de-stigmatizing the conversation about mental health, and identifying ways that we can support girls in our communities moving forward. The evening is appropriate for high school aged girls. We especially encourage parents to come to the conversation with their daughters.
